March of Dimes walk
On May 1st, we will be doing a 3.5 mile walk for the MM arch of Dimes in Manhattan. It is a cause that is very close to our hearts. We spend 72 days in the NICU when Ben was born (another 17 after that in a PICU). 89 days in total. 3 months. But we were among the lucky ones. We have a happy, healthy 2 ½ year old who most can’t believe was born weight less than 2 lbs.
For Ben’s first birthday, we asked that people donate to the March of Dimes in lieu of bringing him gifts. We raised $615 dollars that year. We are setting our sights low this year, and hoping to raise $300 to coincide with Ben turning 3 this year. Every year we will continue to try and grow our donations to this cause that has helped us so much.
This year, we would LOVE LOVE LOVE for anyone and everyone to come out and walk with us. We aren’t pushing fundraising on anyone, rather, having you walk with us will be a visible sign of all the love and support we had when Ben was so little (of course, if can’t walk you should totally donate more). Ben is a survivor and I don’t want him to ever forget all that he can accomplish.
Please let me know if you are interested in walking with us and I will send you the link to our Team Page.
